About Jeffrey L. Hartman
Jeff Hartman, a native Nevadan, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Logistics from
Arizona State University in 1975. Before attending law school, he worked in the headquarters of
Crown Zellerbach Corporation, managing its San Francisco Forest Terminals operations
involving national and international movement of Crown’s products.

He received his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego in 1982 and began practicing in
Reno. He has served as past-president of the Northern Nevada Bankruptcy Bar Association. He
served for nine years on the fee dispute committee and the disciplinary committee for the Nevada State Bar. Beginning in 1991, Jeff was appointed to serve on the Local Rules Committee for the Bankruptcy Court and continued to do so for a number of years thereafter.

Since 1993, he has been nationally certified as a Business Bankruptcy Law specialist by the
American Board of Certification. Since 2007, the year in which the State Bar of Nevada began
recognizing areas of specialization, Jeff has been recognized as a business bankruptcy specialist.
He also is a longtime member of the American Bankruptcy Institute. He is AV Peer Review
Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, and also is listed in the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Registry of Pre
Eminent Lawyers. He has been named a Nevada Super Lawyer since 2007 through a nomination
and polling process conducted by Law & Politics Magazine. He also has been listed in Best
Lawyers in America since 1991.
